WikidPad is now Open Source

IMHO it has some potential :)

That link will give the latest version (1.15).
The d/l'd version asked for 12 bucks, but I understand this is a hangover,
and shouldn't put people off.

More importantly, I couldn't understand a word of it.

So I'll stick with treepad (1/10th the size)

WikidPad is something like a personal wiki with treepad features.

"wikidPad is a Wiki-like notebook for storing your thoughts, ideas, todo
lists, contacts, or anything else you can think of to write down.

What makes wikidPad different from other notepad applications is the ease
with which you can cross-link your information."

Amazing.

Looks great, but I wish they would've done without WikiWords and used
something like [[this]]

You can use or Wikiword or a square brackets instead. Just like this:

FreeWare or [ freeware ]

SpaceStation or [ Space Station ]

Actually, I found it quite intuitive.

It's a nice bit of software, and I think it stands a chance of being
quite popular. XEmacs also has a wiki mode for doing this kind of thing,
but WikiPad Just Works (TM).
