I really don't want to open this Pandora's box again but even getting a new
computer hasn't helped with my problem. I am not asking for help with Outlook
Express or XP as it appears in the begining of my question so please read on.
Early last year, or maybe before that, I installed the updates to XP and
Outlook Express I have running my desktop. That seemed to have messed up
something in my system that caused me to no longer be able to receive
messages in Outlook Express. A lot of people in the newsgroup community
helped me and worked with me for a long time to try to get the problem
resolved. I even saved all of my messages in order to uninstall then
reinstall Outlook Express which I did. Nothing helped and I finally gave up
since I had tried absolutely everything suggested. I was able to use Outlook
Express to send messages so I'd use it for that then read my messages from my
provider's 'webmail page'.
I bought a new laptop which has VISTA and therefore has Microsoft's new
Windows Mail. I thought that would enable me to be able to receive and send
my mail from the same program again. NOPE! I've had this laptop since August
of last year but have never had the time to get to this problem. I don't
understand why I'm having the same problem with Windows Mail as I had with
Outlook Express, which is being unable to receive messages. I use my Windows
Mail to send my messages, as I did with Outlook Express, but now use Windows
Live mail to receive my messages. This is a pain because I'd much rather be
able to use the same program to both send and receive so it would be less
complicated to keep track of conversations that I initiate, receive replies
too then reply back.
Does anyone have an idea why this problem has carried over to my this new
mail program and how it can be resolved? Please, Please, Please help.
I could use Windows Live Mail to both send and receive but the Windows Mail
does have the preview window, which Windows Live mail doesn't. I use
stationery a lot and use preview. That helps me to make sure the receipient
is able to read the message and it appears as I entended.
I'm in need of some genius out there to help me, Please. I don't know what
information you might need but I'll be happy to supply you with whatever I
can. Thanks.
