I'll post a summary of requests for the CD on a daily basis for a few
days - until the initial "rush" :) is over.

See this page for the way we handled CD requests last year - suggestions
for improvement are welcome (this year's page is coming soon):

It doesn't matter, except for speed, but seabat is in my neck of the
woods, Texas.

I'll gladly do as many US CDs as are needed when I get a copy. No
problem. Let's divy it up while we're waiting.

If anyone else in the south central US wants to possibly shave a day
or two in mailing time via proximity:

I'll need your mailing address.

I believe the time has come to start this list. Some people with
high-speed connections should have copies of the CD soon. :)

Who would like to have a copy of the PL2005 CD mailed to them?

Besides me. . . . ;)

Perhaps I'm asking this a year too early. Maybe not enough time to do
it for 2005.

I have the last current PL CD.

I would like to suggest a "DIFF" download as an additional
alternative.

Just a thought.

Hi Dewey,

Someone would have to compare last year's files and this year's files.

I'm reasonably certain there would be identical files with different
names (because the downloads were from different sources). Steven and I
had to reconcile a few such problems this year just for the PL2005
files. . . I think a "DIFF" download would require quite a bit of
extra effort. . .

There are other possibilities. . .

The FTP directory has the ZIP file for this year's web pages. It also
has a batch file to create the "file" directories for all PL2005 program
files.

Anyone who wants to do their own "DIFF" downloads can use those files as
a start.

Also - anyone who plans on downloading PL2005 files that are not
included on the CD can use the batch file to create directories for the
files.

Susan. It would be useful to know how many programs are included which were
not on the 2004 CD, and contrariwise, how many programs which were on the
2004 CD have been deleted. You may also have a record of how many programs
have been updated.

Someone is going to have to mail me a CD again, this year. Last year was no
problem; I received a CD from Susan, popped it into my CD RW, and read, and
burnt like nothing. This one, I cannot read anything on the ISO (A window
pops up asking what to open it with, and I'll be damned if I know, and I get
an option for MS to look for an application on the net, and I get a place
that every likk is for shareware/demoware/trialware/crippleware, and none
answer the question of how to read a frigging ISO anyhow.) and I also
downloaded the CD from this latest link

http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/ftp/2005PL-CD.zip

and all Ij get is a list of file names with the same icon that will not open
on my computer. Maybe going XP when my computer died was a bad move, after
all. I had no trouble whatsoever last year with Windows 98 (NOT SE) reading
either the ISO or the disk. What the heck program was this year's written
with, so I can read these?
