?? Where/how to obtain XP HOTFIX's for USB ??

I am cirucling a few pay for support options in Microsoft
Support for the following errors, which appear to have
hotfixes available. Do I have to pay for them? !!!

1. Your Computer May Stop Responding with IEEE 1394 DVD
and USB Storage Drives

A Microsoft Knowledgebase article has been found that

Chris;
You need to call Microsoft at the number referenced in the article.
State you are calling about a hotfix and you will not be asked for
billing information.

No, you don't have to pay for a hotfix. Just make sure you
have the hotfix # and call 1-800-936-5700.. MS will be
more than happy to send that out to you.

The first of those relates to Windows ME and is not in any way
appropriate to XP. The second tells you to go get a drivers for the
device concerned from its makers - and gives a link.

The latest drivers for USB in XP are part of the SP 2 package; but are
probably not changed from the interim set that came out last year,
