vx2.dll - please help!

Unable to access my computer, internet explorer, control
panel or anything like that. every time it comes up with
an error about 'explorer causing an error at vx2.dll'.
has this happened to anyone else?
it started when I was just on the net normally, and then
I went to open a link from google to an 'adobe acrobat'
file, then suddenly the screen went blue and numerous
errors came up; a different error came up each time
I 'pressed any key', until I restarted and found this
massive problem.

any help is very much appreciated- my pc is basically
crippled and can't do a thing at the moment.

thanks,
chris thomas

Cheers for that; it really helped, but only briefly; I
managed to get in to delete the VX2.dll file, and it
seemed fine again, but I briefly went on the Internet,
and then the next time I started the system the same
thing was happening. I even checked that the VX2 file was
deleted and it was, so I don't know where to go from here.

has anyone got any advice?

Thanks,
Chris Thomas

Chris, your computer is obviously not clean. Do a thorough spyware
removal with Spybot Search & Destroy from www.security.kolla.de and
Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs
before running them. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal
tools in Safe Mode.

My guess is that whatever evil vx2.dll swam in on is still on your
system and you'll have to get rid of it first. Then, be sure you have a
firewall and an antivirus running.
