visibility problem

I am configuring a laptop for an older gentleman with visibility
problems. With a screen I would simply display at 800x600 instead of
1024x768, magnifying everything. with the lap top I cannot do that, so I
set it to the "large" desktop but it doesn't change the programs, I have
played with font sizes too but cannot get a larger view, everything
magnified.

Any ideas?

Try the Accessibilities settings in Control Panel. Look it up in Help for
instructions.
