You will have to install drivers from the CD which came with it in Win98, XP
has native drivers for these.

There are lots of win98 groups in English. For starters...
microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion.
And yes you can use a USB flash drive with 98. Just get the drivers for it.

All kinds of microsoft.public.win98. groups

but the answer is yes, but you may need a driver from the manufacturer.

Yes, Win98 does fine with all kinds of USB peripherals. Unlike WinXP,
you'll need a driver from the manufacturer of the device. It should be
on the disk that came with the device, or visit the manufacturer's web
site.

Hi, Marko.

I found about 40 NGs in English when I searched msnews.microsoft.com for
"98", using OE6.

You're welcome. You're not dumb at all. Why is it "windowxp," but
"win98"? It's Microsoft who's been incosistent here.
