VIEWING EMAILS IN MY ACCOUNT ON DIFFERENT COMPUTERS

Big Al

Hi,

Help please. I work in different countries so have my desk top at home in
UK and use a lap top for travelling. However, when I open up my account on
one machine it does not show previous emails that I have opened or answered
so I can never check what I have sent or read previously from the other
machine.

Can any one please help to find out how I can ensure all previous emails are
shown on both computers?

Thanks.

Ensure that you have selected to "leave a copy of the messages on the
server" on *all* machines that are accessing the account.
Tools>accounts>your account>properties>advanced tab.
Also on *one* of the machines set a sensible number of days to delete
messages from the server, to avoid your server mailbox from over filling.

Sent items is a different matter, the above will not work for those.

Tools | Accounts
Select the account.
Clock Properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Tell it to leave a copy on the server for some number of days.

With POP mail, although it is possible to have both computers
download the same incoming emails, that will not keep the sent
emails the same. To do the latter, you would need to switch to an
IMAP or HTTP account.
