Is it possible to insert a video in an ofiice 2003 powerpoint presentation
and have that video play when you present the presentation in powerpoint 2000.
Some friend told me that he tried and that video did not played.
What do you have to say?";
The whole issue has to do backward compatibility

When you send the presentation to him, did you include the video file? It is
probably the linking issue. You will need to know that video cannot be
embedded into the presentation. So if you have a presentation with video
inserted, the video will be linked. What you can probably do is to create a
folder, move the movie and ppt file to the folder.
Re-insert the movie and save your presentation.
You can then zip the FOLDER up using WinZip or WinRar.
Email the zipped file. When the recipient receive it, he will need to unzip
the folder before accessing the presentation. You can also choose to use
Package for CD instead of emailing the presentation.

Also check this out for more information:

email a presentation"

Lots of things can cause this.

1. You didn't send the video.
2. You sent the video but broke the link.
3. His machine may not have a reequired codec installed.
4. The codec is installed but doesn't wotk with PowerPoint (MCI player)

As a suggestion, give PFCMedia a try, it will solve most of these issues for
you. (www.pfcmedia.com)
