User Access Rights Problem...help needed please

I found someone else with the same issue as I currently have, but
unfortunately no help has been found.
I too have QuickBooks Pro 2005, have installed it successfully. however
when attempting to run the software I continue to get the following error.
"Windows XP and Windows 2000 users must have Power User or Administrator
group rights in order to run QuickBooks.
Please contact your system administrator about being granted those rights"
I attempted to fix the problem based on another thread posted 12/1/04
however that didn't work. So please assist, as quickbooks never makes
mention of this issue prior to purchasing their software.

There's no way to know from what you've posted what fix you have tried
without doing a considerable search and one that would include only a data,
no subject or any other information that might help find it.

Have you tried temporarily changing the other account(s) in which you wish
to run QuickBooks Pro 2005 to Administrator accounts and installing it in
those accounts? You can still install to the same folder, but this method
would create pointers to the other users. Once installed, you should be
able to return the accounts to limited status and still have access to
QuickBooks.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you need to contact Intuit tech support
as this is there issue.

I have the exact same problem! Have you found an answer yet? If so please
email me at (e-mail address removed).

In my situation, I can get it to work on another computer, but not the one I
need it to work on. I've tried everything. Changing users, updating XP,
uninstalling/installing a dozen times, etc. No luck.

I'll call Intuit tomorrow when they are open, but I'll bet anything they say
this is a MS problem since it does run on another one of my computers.

Or, are you saying it won't run under the administrator account in which you
originally installed it.
