Use of Outlook Express with Internet Explorer

1) I use IE 6.0 for my internet browser
I use Microsoft Outlook for CONTACTS and APPOINTMENTS, etc.
I use Outlook Express for my mail client.

2) Every time I try to send a form (an email form) via a web page,
the mail is not sent.
If I look at mail in IE, in the INBOX is a long list of mail from
Administrator saying my mail could not be sent " No transport
provider was available for delivery to this recipient. "

3) I believe the problem stems from: in TOOLS/OPTIONS/PROGRAMS,
I can't specify OUTLOOK EXPRESS as my mail program, as you can't
enter text in the dialog box and the only two pulldown choices are:
Eudora (my previous client) and Microsoft Outlook (no Outlook Express).

4) I have been told that this is due to the fact that I am using Microsoft
Outlook, and thus only Microsoft Outlook can be chosen, and
Outlook Express cannot be used.

Can anyone confirm the above - or know of a way around this??

I need to continue to use Microsoft Outlook as I have numerous contacts,
appointments, and reminders in it.
I also would like to continue to use Outlook Express as my mail client as
I have an extensive address directory and numerous emails filed by subject.

Any comments appreciated., thanks in advance

Jim S.

I believe you'll have to enable sharing of Address Book contacts with
Outlook via a Registry hack, too:
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm. Mind the caveats, especially
this one: Any changes (additions, deletions, edits) made to Address Book
while sharing with OL is enabled will *not* be available (in Address Book)
if and when sharing is disabled.

Robert:

Had already found your earlier response -same as the following.
Your first suggestion (registering Outlook Express as default) solved the
problem.
Came back here to close it out and you had already responded to my message -
quick work.
Had been told by "tech support" for ISP that it wasn't possible but found
that hard to believe.
Thanks much,

Jim S
