The mail button in Internet Explorer 6 and Outlook Express

I cannot get IE-6 to use my installed Outlook Express when I click the mail
button in IE-6. I have Outlook Express configured to be my defalult email
program both from within Internet Options in IE-6, and in Outlook Express
options. I also have "Outlook" installed, but secifically have this program
"deselected" as the default email program........When I click on the mail
button in IE-6, to send a link or a page, IE-6 used to send my link or page
to my Outlook Express program for mailing. Now for some reason I get an
"Outlook" message box when I click the IE-6 mail button that states the
following "Either there is no default mail client or current mail client
cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set
it as the default mail Client"....... I have even uninstalled "Outlook" to
see if IE-6 would be forced to kick the page or link I'm trying to send to
Outlook Express, but no such luck.............IE-6 used to work fine with
Outlook Express, now I get the above message, and I can't get IE-6 to use
Outlook Express at all. Help.

Can anyone help me fix this problem, I want IE-6 to use Outlook Express, not
Outlook. Keep in mind what I mentioned above, both IE and Outlook Express
are configured to use Outlook Express as the default email program.

Thanks for the help.

Go to Start>Run and type the following:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg

(Check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)

Make certain to include the quotations marks and the space between the
ending quotation mark and the slash. Recommend if the path is correct, you
just copy/paste the line above into the Start/Run line.

Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools\Internet Options\Programs and
set OE as the default mail (and news) program.

Mac, I have already tried the fix you provided. But thanks. However I still
get the "Outlook message" noted in my original posting, when I try to mail a
page or link.

What now Mac? ? ? ?
