Unable to exit MS Outlook 2000 session

I am unable to exit the outlook session if i give either by giving
File-->Exit or By clicking exit button and i am recieving following message
which does not exits as follows:

"Please wait while Microsoft outlook exits." in a dialog box

Please let me have your suggestions....

You should post this in a newsgroup for Outlook:
microsoft.public.outlook.general

Before you post your question in the Outlook newsgroup, ask yourself
these questions:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

There is a known issue with Outlook 2000.
The one I'm speaking of is if a user access their
email from one machine that uses Outlook 2003 at one point, then later
opens their email from a machine using Outlook 2000, then the exit
screen hangs-up. There is a fix-it tool on Microsoft web site.
I don't recall where but if you goto:
http://support.microsoft.com

Then search for Outlook 2000 won't close or exit.
You should be able to find it.

If the above scenerio doesn't match your situation the fix patch might
still work for you.
