Outlook 2000 won't exit completely; it hangs.

Running XP O/S, and Outlook 2000.
When I try to close Outlook, it hangs with the
window:

"Please wait while Microsoft Outlook exits."

It hangs with this message, and you can not completely
exit Outlook. Have to exit with Task Manager.
