Sudden IE6 nightmares

G

GARY HALL

I have experienced a sudden loss of control of my IE6. Every single time I
now open the browser, my home page has become a "Home search" page with the
following address:

res://cpaad.dll/index.html#21259

I reset it....back it goes. This has been accompanied by an equally sudden
onslaught of pop-ups, many of which advertise (of all things) pop-up
killers! A lot of the pop-ups have a Windows icon and the title "only the
best" on the title bar. More strange happenings: my "Links" bar keeps
moving to the right of my address bar. I move it down
below..close...re-start...back it goes.

Unbelievably, I can't even do a Google search in peace. I tried doing a
simple search and ended up re-routed to:
http://search-to-find.com/

I have given up and started using Netscape (without incident), but this is
an infuriating problem I'd like to overcome. I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks.

Hi Gary,

I have found the solution for this through someother forum
try this

Simply go to Start menu/control panel/add/remove programs
and look for the above item(Logical Online Portal). When
you klik on uninstall, it comes back with some gibberish
looking 7 digit number it asks you to copy and insert,
(checking to make sure you're really a person!).

I just tried doing this, but I have nothing called "Logical Online Portal"
on the program list.
