Start Menu New Programs Installed Messages

Every time I open my start menu, I get a message that says: New programs
installed. Some programs are highlighted in the programs list, meaning they
were recently installed. However, when I open these programs, then close
them and reboot the computer, I still get this message, and the programs are
still highlighted. The programs are mostly old software. Any way I can stop
this from happening? Or will Windows quit doing this after a while?

Just me

It should go away after awhile. Try using the programs a
few times and see what happens.

Right click the Start button | Properties | Start Menu tab |
Advanced tab | UNCheck: Highlight newly installed programs |
OK | Apply | OK
