Problem: Installed programs Icons show generic folder images on Start Menu.

Hi, my "all programs" menu has about 50 icons and over half of the installed
programs show the generic folder image. The installed programs that have
flyouts attached to the initial display of the installed program icons have
the correct image on their icons.

I know how to change the individual icons to the correct image but I have no
idea why the correct image is not being installed during installation. Nor,
do I know how to correct the image installation when the programs are
being installed, or to keep the correct image from later being changed.

Thanks for any help

TIA

Actually, that seems to be the way Windows does
things, mainly because the all programs listings
are essentially directories where programs are
found. If there are icons, these are probably
controlled by the application publisher, not
Windows. Maybe someone else has a better
explanation, but that's what it appears to be.
