My ISP changed my Internet Connection from a wired Ethernet cable to a
wireless connection. This placed a new connection symbol in my system tray.
The old connection symbol is still in the System Tray with a big red X
across it. How do I remove the old symbol?

Going into Control>Network Connections>Properties and removing the check
from show connection in system tray does not remove it.

When right clicking the old connection, the delete action is "Grayed Out".

Thanks for any help

TIA

You don't want to delete it, you want to disable it. Right click the
connection and select disable.

Adding to David's good advice: You want to leave network card in your
computer, albeit disabled. You need to update the router's firmware with
a wired connection, and you'll want to have the ability to use a wired
connection if you need to reconfigure your network.

Thanks for the answer David and Leonard. Clicking disable under properties
for the "Local Area Connection", in Network Connection, removed the symbol
from my system tray. Thanks again.
