Newly installed programs

When I would install new programs on my system, clicking on the start button
would inform me of the newly installed program and the new program would be
highlighted when accessed through the Start menu. Now, my system no longer
informs me of the newly installed program or highlights newly installed
programs.

I checked the settings for this option by right-clicking the start button
and selecting properties. On the start menu tab, I clicked on customize.
Click on the Advanced tab and, "Highlight newly installed programs" is
selected. I've tried toggelling it off and back on, but no change.

Is there anywhere else I need to check so I can bring this feature back?

Right click on Start and select Properties. On the Start Menu tab click
Customize and than select the Advance tab. There should be check in the box
to highlight newly installed programs. If there already is a check, suggest
you try clearing the box and the next time you reboot your computer go back
and check the box.

Try running the edit on Kelly's site:

Line 194: Disable Highlight New Programs - Undo

Click on the Undo portion. See the top of the page for info on running

Thnx, I will try the tip. One question, will I have to install another new
program to see if it worked, or will the new program I've already installed
show as "highlited"?
