Start up menu

Newly installed programs are highlighted to call attention to them. When you
open a highlighted item, then close it, the highlight goes away.

To make it stop working that way, right-click the Start button and choose
Properties. Click the Customize button next to "Start Menu". Scroll down the
list and clear the check mark next to "Highlight newly installed items".
Click OK twice.

Hi everyone, i just had a question about the start up menu

When i click on "start" and then "all programs" most of the list of programs
are clear (ie: are not highlighted) however i recently installed some cannon
printer products and when i open the "all programs" they are highlighted in
orange.

Why is that happening? It is really annoying as i'm an OCD medical student
who doesn't like anything looking unusual hehe

New installed items are highlighted for a while
If you don't like it then turn it off.
"Highlight newly installed programs"
on the Customize options of the Start menu properties of the task bar.

I wonder if this is an hypothsis worth testing. Recently Installed -->
Highlighted in Orange, mmmm.
