SP4 Install Cleanup

L

Lee

I successfully installed SP4 using the backup old files
option. Now that the update is complete, I doubt I will
ever remove it. Can I safely remove the uninstall/backup
files and the for these updates that get stored in the
WINNT and or the 'a' folder that as placed in my c-drive
by the installer? Once I'm satisfied the updates are
stable, these uninstall files just eat hard drive space.
But I don't want to ust erase them because it might mess
up the registy or something.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Lee

You can remove the Backup Files if you want, although it is not recommended.
And, besides, nowadays HDD Space is getting cheaper and cheaper.
If you still want to uninstall the SP4 Backup Files then follow these
Instructions:

- "HOW TO: Remove the Service Pack Restore Files and Folders in Windows":

Hope this helps. Regards,

Fabio
