uninstalling sp4, help?

I have to uninstall sp4. When it was loaded, I chose
archive, but can't find the uninstall files anywhere
(In the add/remove, or in \winnt folder - there is no
$NtServicePackUninstall$ folder, and yes, I've unhidden
everything). Any ideas on what to do next?

sorry bad question but are you really 100% sure you indeed did archive the
files?

know it is not hardware as I can read the disk.

Your last resort could be an In-Place Upgrade of Windows 2000.
