SP2 problems

In regards to installing XP SP1, I had absolutely no
problems what so ever. However I have read that many
people did encounter problems that required Hotfixes and
patches in order to run their systems. That being said,
are the problems that people are having with SP2
(Although they are different issues and bugs)anywhere
near as dramatic as the ones that affected SP1. I hope I
am explaining myself correctly as I made a similar post
earlier and people responded by telling my that SP2
includes SP1. I understand that but I am asking something
completely different. A hypothetical scenerio, 15% of the
systems that installed SP1 encountered problems. Do the
systems that installed SP2 have more or less problems
then that of SP1. Remember that this number of 15% is
completely hopothetical as I do not have any facts.

There are number of recommendations that have been posted in the newsgroups.
Things that have helped people in smooth upgrade are:

1: Made sure I had all the latest drivers for my peripherals
2: Made sure I had all available updates for my software
3: Did a thorough disk cleanup
4: Did a thorough virus scan
5: Did a thorough adware scan with Ad Aware and Spybot
6: Imaged my hard drive using Powerquest Drive Image
7: Installed SP2 - stand alone network install.
8: Did a complete defrag of my system partition

Another /recommendations:
1. Apply all the patches and updates
2. Setup system restore just incase your SP2 screws up. That way you can
go back to original
system configuration
3. Disk cleanup
4. Run Spy Bot and/or Ad-Aware programs
5. Run anti-virus program
6. Back-up hard drives
7. After you've done the previous 1-6 turn off Anti-virus programs and any
aftermarket
firewall.
8. Download SP2
