Internet Explorer Freezing after XP SP2 update

Using XP Pro SP2...

While using internet explorer the computer just hangs. I have to do a
hard reset. I was running XP SP1 with updates/hotfixes with no
problems. I thought that it may have been a problem with an other
application that I installed around the same time. I slipstreamed a
copy of XP with SP2 and did a fresh install. Still getting the same
problem with IE freezing. Could it be a confilt with the modem driver
(signed by microsoft 56k US Robotics). An ideas? Looks like I will
have to go back to SP1 without the updates/hotfixes. Am going to try
mozila and see if I get the same problems..

Is anyone else having the same problems??

Hope this helps!
