SP2 & Norton Systemworks 2003

Hi everyone.

This is my problem, now I want too DL the new sp2 updates
from microsoft but I can't because of Norton Systemworks
2003.

I had checked out the "Programs that may behave
differently in Windows XP Service Pack 2" page here at
microsoft & the only one am worried about is the Norton
Systemworks 2003 from Symantec.

If you have that installed as well as sp2 then you will
get the following error: "If you install this program,
you receive the "DRIVER_OR_IRQ_NOT_EQUAL" error every
time your computer starts.."

This will lock out of my PC. Now I checked out Symantec's
website & all they say about sp2 is that it wont effect
the software/product & other stuff, they don't say
anything about the pc lock out/error. I checked out
microsoft's site & thats where I read about the
error/lockout but neither says anything about a solution
too this & I want too have SP2 installed.

Thanks.

I'm using NSW 2003 on three machines with SP2 installed with no
problem whatsoever. Your mileage may vary of course. Install SP2,
but first be sure you use Ghost to make a backup image of your system
prior to doing so.

Likewise -
NSW 2003 on two machines... no problem with SP2.
Your BSOD - DRIVER_ ..... is more likely caused by a
hardware conflict... and tough to track down.

I wouldn't be surprised if Symantec won't support NSW 2003 in SP2. They
will probably suggest upgrading to NSW 2004 (or 2005, to be released soon)
or not installing SP2. At the very least, be sure NSW has all the latest
program updates installed before you install SP2 (usually taken care of by
LiveUpdate).
