I do not have sound when performing some task. I've tried
several operations attempting to correct. Music cd's and
audio emails play properly. However, no sound with web
base games and other self installed computer games.
I brought up "Sounds and Audio Devices" throught the
Control Panel. Under the "Volume tab" is "No Audio
Device". Under the "Voice tab" I clicked Test hardware
and while running Sound hardware Test Wizard anothern
window popped up, "DirectPlay Voice Setup" indicating an
error (0x80004005) occurred. I click OK and another
window popped up, Windows Error - Windows cannot execute
DpvSetup.exe, use Add/Remove Programs control panel to
install. Totally lost at this point. unable to figure how
to install. I am a novice so please provide any
help/suggesstions with this in mind.
