Slow response from Windows Explorer -- Related to SP4!?

S

Steven O.

When I double-click on MS Office files in the Windows Explorer, there
is a looong delay until the appropriate MS Office application starts
-- and then another delay until the file opens. Until then, Explorer
is frozen. This seems to have happened after I upgraded to Win 2000
SP4. Is the problem related to SP4? Will uninstalling SP4 help?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

This "slowness" issue has been experienced here,
and by others.

Rolling back to SP2 completely cleared it up for me.

No fix yet.
