Extracting Win2K Files from Setup disk

S

Steven O.

I am running into a problem when trying to create a dial-up networking
connection. A particular file crashes. According to what I can find
on the Web, this may have to do with incompatible versions --
Installed SP4 (a mistake), and then uninstalled it, and things got
screwed in the process.

In any event, I can find the names of the files that need to be
replaced. But I went to Microsoft's Web site, searching for
instructions on how to extract specific files from the install CD.
They describe a utility that works for Win 98 and Win ME, but I can't
find anything comparable for Win 2K.

Can anyone tell me how to extract specific files from the Win2K disk?

Thanks,
Steve O.

Try this from the Command Prompt:

expand d:\i386\mapisp32.dl_ mapisp32.dll

where d: is the drive letter of your CD drive. Your
source file extension will always end on an underscore.
