'Search' Function is Gone !

Suddenly my 'Search' function in WinXP Pro just disappeared! It has always
worked flawlessly. Virus scans with Norton and AVG are clean,

When I try to activate 'Search' I get absolutely nothing. I don't even get
the initial dialogue box. 'System Restore' did not make any difference.

Help would be appreciated.

You have run antivirus, have you run another anti spyware program preferable
two different ones.
