Scanner Driver

This should be simple but..... The install for my Hp
scanjet 4670 requests USBscan.sys. I down loaded the
Windows xp home edition service pack 1a. This did not
solve the problem as the file is still not found.
Where/how can I get the drive/file?

You should be able to get the file from the driver.cab file on the drive you
have Windows installed to. Typically: C:\WINDOWS\Driver
Cache\i386\driver.cab

If the Hp scanner install application doesn't automatically pick it up from
the driver.cab file you might need to open the driver.cab file from
explorer, locate the usbscan.sys file and rt.click->extract. Then point the
Hp scanner install app to the location you extracted the driver to.

Somewhere I read that you should remove all previously installed HP
scanning software (which I did). The installation proceeded without
problems.
Most installers do it for you, this one maybe not.

To my opinion it is an excellent scanner with lousy software, compared
to the Scanjet 5370. It looks more or less the same but .....
