sbcmsync.dll

Gang,

I have a problem getting the "SBCMSYNC.DLL could not be installed
or loaded?" error message when Outlook loads. I have already looked
through google groups on how to resolve this and can't find an
answer. I have removed the extend.dat file from the c:\docs&sets\user
profile\local settings\app data\microsoft\outlook (even though the KB
article says to remove c:\windows\app data\microsoft\outlook - which
doesn't exist). I also have tried the "detect and repair" option from
Outlook as well as tried to remove or disable the add-in. The only
problem is the the "Outlook sync" option is not listed in either of
the add-in sections. Can someone please help me with this.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks for the reply Tom. Unfortunately, I have already tried all the
options in that KB article (as outlined in the original post). Does
anyone have any other suggestions?

Do you have BCM installed? If so, did you try to uninstall it? Have you
asked in microsoft.public.outlook.bcm where the BCM-knowledgeable people
visit?

I don't think the BCM is installed and will have to check the next
time I am onsite. If it isn't installed, any other suggestions?

BCM is not installed. Does anyone have any other suggestions or know
another place to post this question?

The article addresses Office 2000 and 2002. I am running Office 2003 and am
getting the same error message. Can you help?
Thanks
