Replacement for Paint Shop Pro

El Gee

I've been using Paint Shop Pro 6 for years and I'm wondering what, if
any, are some comparable freeware apps. I mostly use it for web
graphics formats for editing palettes and resizing, and sometimes for
screen captures, too.

TIA

Neill

Personally I have found that not one app will do. I like the Gimp for
"Photoshop" type graphics work.

I also have used Satori PhotoXL
I have loaded on my PC Pixia
As well as the free version of PSP.
As well as Irfanview
I find that they all offer good and bad points.

I tried a Babya photo program and while it did what I wanted it to do,
it was not my cup of tea:

* Every "plugin" ran as a seperate application, so it was more of a
suite of individual tools rather than a graphics tool. * It was butt
ugly * It uninstalled very cleanly.

The size-bloatware -over 5mb .

So anything over 5 megs is bloat? I think that depends on the proggie,
silly boy! Many programs get large because the take specialized
libraries (DLLs, OCXs, etc). Graphics programs, to offer and
funtionality need plugin ins (DLLs) which add to their size.

To me, bloat is when you have things you do not need - Debug code left
behind after compiling, large splash screens, spyware added, unneeded
databases, a huge flashy GUI, etc. If one proggie could fill ALL a
graphics artist desires at under 5 megs, it would be a great program.

Can anyone do a review of my image editors?-it supports many
effects/projects and graphics tablets
Sure. Along with Babya System I downloaded Babya Photo Workshop Pro.

I was unable to determine what this software was for.It appeared to be
some kind of image editor, but it wouldn't stop crashing long enough for
me to evaluate. I uninstalled it.
