Nicholas, I use it to create graphics on my sites-it works and many
effects (not bloatware-the gimp is). Just your opinion, I don't mind
whether users like it or not-it's their choice.

In addition to the ones previously mentioned, you may want to take a look
at:
1. Ultimate Paint @ http://www.ultimatepaint.com/. There is a freeware
version. I used an earlier version years ago and was quite happy with it.
The freeware version basically is crippled wrt Adobe Photoshop filters and
has only 20 built-in filters. However, Irfanview @ www.irfanview.com accepts
Adobe filters so maybe you can use the two together?

Please Biff, stop that. It makes you look like a trolling stalker. If
Babya needs to shill every other moment, his frequent postings are a
giveaway by themselves.

in what way is the Gimp bloatware?

The GIMP has some features that would be rarely used 100% by someone
that doesn't have a good knowledge of photography and image editing,
IMHO.

Even with this, I like The GIMP... also because I can use some of my
[OT] Adobe Photoshop plug-ins on it - since I have an old version of
Photoshop, the plug-ins work with a simple trick to make GIMP find Adobe
DLL's.

hi

i appreciate what you mean when you write that there are some features that
won't be used 100% of the time, *but* those features are all relevant to the
area of image editing and i'm glad they are there that .5% of the time i
need them...imo "bloatware" issoftware that is stuffed to the gills with
features that are irrelevant to using the software for it's primary
purpose...but i'm splitting hairs :)

Even with this, I like The GIMP... also because I can use some of my
[OT] Adobe Photoshop plug-ins on it - since I have an old version of
