read only

I can't get the read only box to stay unset on the
general tab of the folders I want to share The SHARING &
SECURITY boxes are checked. Ideas?

It's a tri-state checkbox. It's not really set, but in the "neutral" state.
The UI doesn't allow you to set the read only attribute on folders. It
applies a change only to the files inside the folder.
