problems with sharing files in a home network

I have 2 comps with windows xp home edition. I can access comp B from comp A
but cannot access comp A from Comp B. It asks for a guest password, which
when i put in gives me an access error.... i can see the workgroups from
either computers just can't access the files or share printers. PLEASE HELP

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this

Is the Guest account activated for network access on both computers?

Chuck i have gone through all but still cannot access made sure my guest
accounts are the same, restrictanonymous is 0 but no luck. I can see the
printers when i click on add printer but access is denied. Actually the error
message i get is "windows cannot connect to the printer.Operation could not
be completed." I have my norton firewall and windows firewall set to off
still does notwork. PLEASE HELP.

Restrictanonymous is the best known problem here, but not the only one.

Do you have any non-printer shares? Why not add one to each computer, and see
if they are visible? Make sure that the problem isn't the printer driver.

And if I had a dollar for everybody who said "Norton Personal Firewall can't be
a problem - it's turned off", I'd not be as rich as Bill G, but I'd be a bit
better off. Google a bit, and see. NPF needs to be Enabled and properly
configured, or un installed.
