networking xp home and pro

hi all,
i have a xp home sp2 machine networked with a xp pro sp2 machine. now these
comps arent directly linked i have a wireless access point between them, the
home comp is wireless, the pro one is wired. every now and then i am unable
to accesss the home comp, but the home comp can always access the pro comp. i
am currently on the pro comp, which recieves its internet through the home
comp which is working fine, i can see the comp on the network, it just winges
at me about access rights, on this comp, i am logged on as an admin, as well
as on the home comp.
is there an easy way to solve this besides rebuilding my comp, or goin
without the router, as i have comps coming and going through my network all
the time (note: these comps dont affect my access to the home comp, sometimes
they can get to it, where i cant.)

Suspecting that you are describing a browser problem (and no I am not talking
about Internet Explorer), there are a couple common causes for your problem.

Check for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls, and for registry setting
restrictanonymous.
Misconfigured / overlooked firewalls:
<http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-personal-firewall-can-either-help.html>
http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-personal-firewall-can-either-help.html
Registry setting restrictanonymous:
<http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/07/restrictanonymous-and-your-server.html>
http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/07/restrictanonymous-and-your-server.html

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, and we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely:
<http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp>

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.

thanks for your response chuck, however there are no firewalls enabled for
any connections inside my network, and on both comps the anonymous thingy is
set to 0.
