Problems Posting to Newsgroups

C

Christine Williams

I receive the following error when replying to a Newsgroup:

Windows Mail could not post your message. Subject 'test', Account:
'newsgroups.bellsouth.net', Server: 'newsgroups.bellsouth.net', Protocol:
NNTP, Server Response: '441 Posting Failed (Rejected by POST filter)', Port:
119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9

Can anyone tell me what "Rejected by POST filter" means? Is this a Vista
thing?
I can post with no problem from my XP computer, when it was alive that is...
The Server name and Port match the old computer settings.

Thank you
Christine

With most ISP(s) even for NNTP or NG(s), you have to present a user-id and
PSW to logon to the NNTP server. I suggest that you contact your ISP and
let them help you.

Check to see if the post is MIME or UUENCODED under
Tools > Options > Send > News sending format > Plain text settings..

Select UUENCODE for the option and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you, but that didn't resolve it... I guess I'll give Bellsouth a
call....
