Problem error message during installation

I am getting an error message in the initial stages of xp
pro install. I am installing a full, clean install and
have backed up files, etc.

After it copies install files and begins to restart, I get
this message:

Line 31 of the INF file \$WIN_NT$.~BT\winnt.sif is
invalid. Setup cannot complete.

I am eager to get this done. Any help you can give is
much appreciated. I have been up all night with this
one...

I am getting the same messge except that my error line is #27 which is("Proxy_Bypass="127.0.0.1;"windows update";<local>;localhost

I have tried deleting the line and also the file but to no avail. I saw no answers to this query so I am putting it forth agai
