prediction: vista will be attacked like no other OS in history

R

Red nosed reindeer

I can see it now... a few weeks after its release to the stores...

the hackers will launch a colossal attack like no other in history.

Just to show to the world that vista is not really secure, its only MS sales
hype,
and that because of its mass and complexity its more venerable than xp.

So for those of you that still have a dual boot with XP, my advice is NOT
to remove it for a long time.. or you may face downtime of several days

and you base this on.... what? to make a statement like that i can only
assume your hacking genius has unearthed several major security issues?
please share them with us

Pretty hard to attack somethng that will probably be less than 1% of the
Windows installation at that point, wouldn't it?

Sure:

And that's just the beginning. A new crack is out to bypass the smarmy
product activation nonsense as well. Of course, MS believes that paying
customers should participate in their cat and mouse game with exploiters
and crackers. I don't and, as a result, I am learning Ubuntu.

they will do it only to show that they can
and to show that vista is not secure...to discourage people from getting it.

it will be just to warm up to the main course.

sorry I don't like vista since its late longhorn days.. once I saw the way
they were headed... I started feeling uneasy. I was hoping that some miracle
would happen and
they would change course.. but no..

they ignored the feedback* and walked their own walk..

* I am talking about feedback about design concepts, NOT bugs.
Feedback for bugs mean that you accept all the rest and just want to correct
flaws... Correcting flaws on a badly conceived idea is useless.

Colossal in quality, not in quantity...

a purported activation crack is hardly a colossal attack like no other in
history.
LOL.. i find it hysterical all the people that have very obviously nothing
nice to ever say about MS or their operating systems... they all could have
done it better, they all saw this coming... yet youre broke and MS is one of
the richest corporations on the planet. apparently theyre doing something
right. and while youre "learning" Ubuntu (a particularly pathetic version of
Linux) i guarantee youre typing these messages from a Windows OS.

Um, I am not broke.
and MS is one of the richest corporations on the planet.

So's the mob, Arms Dealers and Hugo Chavez.

apparently
theyre doing something right.

Ripping off customers is "right"?
and while youre "learning" Ubuntu (a
particularly pathetic version of Linux)

Your opinion and not one I share.

i guarantee youre typing these
messages from a Windows OS.

So? I like XP and, like I said, I am *learning* Ubuntu, which, by the
way, does everything I can do with XP, even watch Windows Media Player
videos on news web sites. And, I might add, MUCH easier to install.

If it weren't for the obvious disdain that MS has towards it's paying
customers, of which I have been one since 92, I would be looking forward
to Vista instead of learning Ubuntu. The
you-are-a-thief-until-you-prove-differently was the last straw.

After I learn Ubuntu, and if I find another Linux that I like better, it
won't cost me a kidney and a liver to buy it.

Well ain't you the best thing since Brittany Spears? A "global fortune
500 company hires people like you that can't capitalize words that need
to be capitalized? I own my own business. Maybe when you grow up and get
some maturity and fortitude, you will too, although I doubt it.
