PowerDVD 6 and RealPlayer

With the ms antispyware installed both RealPlayer and
PowerDVD 6 will not work. MS Antispyware was installed
first, then RealPlayer. After uninstalling both MS
Antispyware and RealPlayer I then reinstalled RealPlayer
which worked perfectly. I reinstalled MS Antispyware and
RealPlayer continued to work correctly.

2 days later I have Installed PowerDVD 6, after
installation I clicked on the PowerDVD6 Desktop Icon and
nothing happened however there was an entry in the Task
Manager for PowerDVD just no sign of the program running
on screen. This is exactly what happened with RealPlayer
so again I uninstalled both PowerDVD and MS Antispyware
and then installed PowerDVD, it worked perfectly. After
installing MS Antispyware again both media players are
running fine.

It seems they couldn't be installed properly with MS
Antispyware installed but installing MS Antispyware last
works. Will I have to keep uninstalling MS Antispyware
every time I want to install something new?

You could try next time before installing new software,
either shutting down MSAS or at least disabling active
monitoring. Both can be done from right click on the
system tray icon. After the install, and re-enabling MSAS
and its active monitoring, you might get some popups from
it, warning you of changes made (e,g, additional startup
item).
