Security Incompatibility with Iomega Zip drive

S

Sam Tomaino

I just discovered the right click context menu items
specific to Iomega Zip drives, used for
unprotecting/protecting Zip disks do not show up when MS
Antispyware is installed. After uninstalling the
Windows Antispyware, the Iomega security options are once
again visible and useable. Is this a bug? It appears
that if I choose to use the Antispyware I cannot use any
of my protected Zip disks.

This sounds like an application compatibility issue, and you've just posted
it in the right place--thanks!

I have no problems here with Iomega Zip 100... All right-click items are
present. I don't recall ever seeing anything for protecting or unprotecting
under the right-click menu, anyway. I've always found protection to be
listed under the Iomega tab under Properties of the right-click menu... In
which case, mine is still present...

You may want to try to reinstall your Iomega software while you have
antispyware running...
