Antispyware Blocks IE From Running

Microsoft Antispyware disables IE. I had no problem with
both programs for months until now. Why, I don't know.
Could it be the latest antispyware update? All I know is
that it is blocking IE from running. After un-installing
antispyware, IE runs. I re-installed antispyware and
updated it, IE stopped running. I un-installed it again,
IE runs. I have WIN XP and IE 6.0. Is there anyone out
there with similar problem?

Have you run Anti-Spyware in Safe Mode?

Why run Anti-Spyware in safe Mode? I did not, and how
will that lead to a solution? Thanks

Anti-Spyware does not disable IE here. Running it in Safe Mode may
eliminate some more spyware, which may be causing the problem. Also see:

After you run Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta), you have network-related
problems, or you receive an error message

you should consider installing sp2, if you have not
installed it. i had never had problem with MSAS on SP2.

What happens?

Do you get any error or visual symptom?

If you watch, in taskmgr, do you see IE starting, or IE tasks running, even
though you can't see the UI on the screen?

Have you recently added any add-ins of any sort to IE?

This is not something I can recall ever seeing posted here.

On the theory that you've accidentally blocked some portion of IE, you could
uninstall Microsoft Antispyare and delete its installation folder (typically
c:\program files\microsoft antispyware) and then reinstall. You'd lose all
settings and quarantine items, etc.

When I check taskmngr, IE is shown more than once as a
running process, depending on how many times I have
ckicked on it's icon. the UI however remains invisable.
After my frustration with IE not showing its UI, I
installed Netscape 8.0, which runs with microsoft
antispyware without any problem.
I did mentioned however, that after uninstalling MSAS, IE
runs.

I have SP2. I did mentioned that I have never had any
problem with it until suddenly one day I clicked on IE
and it just won't load it's UI. Though it shows it as a
running process in taskmanager.
I have scanned my computer with norton antivirus and
MSAS, webroot spy sweeper. All results came clean.
