Popup error about CD burner

WinXP(SP1)

Installed Easy CD Creator 4 and every time the PC booted, a popup would
appear from the taskbar:

Device or applications disabled
'Cd Recording Software' will cause Windows to become unstable. Windows has
prevented these drivers from loading.

Of course, the program didn't work, so I uninstalled it, then installed Easy
DC Creator 6, which works OK. However, I still get that same popup warning.
Obviously then the drivers were not prevented from loading.

Is the popup because there's still a remnant of ECDC4 still present? Or does
WinXP "normally" behave that way with ECDC6 installations?

How do I prevent that nuisance popup from appearing without uninstalling or
inhibiting ECDC6?

Yes. Uninstalling it leaves some orphaned registry entries. You need
to tidy these up. First uninstall the Easy CD 6, as you will have to
install it again. Then to tidy up, get a registry patch file,
cdgone.reg, from www.aumha.org/downloads/cdgone.zip, extract it, r-click
on it and merge it into the registry and reboot.

You will then need to reinstall the version 6
