pop up message, new programs installed,

I installed some new programs, (not really new, had to install a new hard
disk) and I keep getting a pop up message about the new programs installed
each time I hit the Start button to log off or go to the menu. Is there a
way to get rid of that message once and for all?

Right click the Start button | Properties |
Customize button | Advanced tab |
UNCheck: Highlight newly installed programs |
OK | Apply | OK

[[Specifies that a new program installed on the computer is highlighted with
a different color in the All Programs list.]]
