I have installed a new program and get the message "new programs installed"
when I click on the Start button. Normally once I've opened the program this
message and the highlighting go away but they wont in this instance. Anyone
tell me how I can get rid of the message and highlighting on this new
program?
Thanks
Tony

Just click on the bubble and it will go away.

It does but keeps on coming back! Normally once the program has been opened
the bubble doesn't appear, why does it keep appearing and why is the program
permanently highlighted?

Hi Tony,

Go to Taskbar and Start Menu properties, on the start menu tab click
customize and undo the option to highlight newly installed programs.
Apply/OK your way out, then reboot. If you turn it back on now, the program
should no longer be considered "new".
