#2 is my vote. but perhaps user submitted/moderated reviews (linked)
could be available. some programs have key deficiencies that you
won't know until you install and play with it. this can waste a lot
of cumulative time.

I wish to object to this action by Stan, it has been put forward at
the most *Inconvenient* time. It is worded extremely badly & *Biased*
Stan may 'think' he is doing something important, he has simply
introduced another piece of badly produced, poorly thought-out piece
of unneccessary voting. Why not 'help' Susan? why not accept her
honesty and her promise to discuss this properly & deal with it later?
Come on, let Susan have her much needed time to sort out the massive
lists of 'nominations' for 2005. Don't bog her down with this 'change'
Fully listen to what she says to you, read her comments & suggestions
which are well meant, put yourself in her place and think again hey?
