Palm won't hotsync.

I recently upgraded from 98se to XP Home. My Palm lll worked fine with 98 but
will not hotsync any more after installing XP. It is a serial cradle, the
software loaded, but it appears the XP does nor recognize the serial port. No
error message, just doesn't do anything. Does someone have an answer? Maybe
there is a patch that will remedy the problem?

Upgrading Windows may let you run into problems. I would clean-install
the newer version of Windows. You can create a dual-boot setup to be
able to run Windows 98 as long as this is necessary and you need to
set up your applications in Windows XP.
Help with Palm computers is available from www.palm.com.

Thanks for the advice. I forgot to mention it was a new install on a new hard
drive in my laptop. I went to the Palm website and it was absolutely no help.
Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is the com port working properly. The Laptop throws another monkey
wrench into the equation. I suspect that fresh motherboard drivers for
this laptop are necessary.
