Outlook Express 6 (Windows XP)

Trying to open email attachment. Following message occurs. This file does
not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an
association in the Folder Options control panel.

These attachements have .pub and .pps at the end of them.

Please advise as to how to open them.

To open a .pub file you need MS Publisher installed on your machine - there
are no viewers for pubs you need Publisher. Ask the sender to send you a
..pdf of whatever it is they are sending you as a pub file. You won't be able
to edit it though, but at least you can see it.

To open .pps you need PowerPoint - I believe there is a Powerpoint
viewer...do a google.

Next time, try posting this in an Outlook Express news group - this is not
one of them.
Outlook is a part of Microsoft Office and is what this group supports.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and has its own news groups.

sorry, i am a novice at this computer caper, but thank you for your advice.

You're welcome...although this problem had nothing to do with Outlook
