This is my first posting so please forgive any errors.

Using windows 2000 pro
Internet explorer 6
on a dell latitude notebooek
peer to peer network
cable modem

I can see the other computers on the network

when starting internet explorer
I see "Finding msn.com" at lower left area
then it changes to "connecting 207.46.134.222"
then the text screen pops up that states "The page cannot be displayed"

I can ping yahoo.com and any other website/ip with 0% loss

I reinstalled IE6 with help from group postings
I also installed service pack 2

Any suggestions/reason whi I cann't see a web site.

Thank for any help

Yossie

Do you get hacked by this parasite?

IGetNet
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/IGetNet.html

Problems: May cause IEXPLORE.EXE to hang whilst shutting down. You will also
be unable to contact the real auto.search.msn.com and search.netscape.com
directly whilst IGetNet is installed due to the Hosts file alterations.

HOSTS file problem?
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS, reboot.
