Right, this PC has had it's toll, i need a new one especially for the new games and such. Crysis baby!

So far what i have put together it's come to around 743pounds that including if i manage to sell my old parts and also Windows XP.

Remember i do NOT need the following -

Case
Mouse
Keyboard
PSU
Screen

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-236-AS (Motherboard)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-157-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793 (CPU)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-013-OK&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817 (RAM, although not sure which type it is atm so feel free to change!)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-133-MD (HD)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-061-OK&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=922 (GFX)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-094-CL (Speakers)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-043-CL&groupid=701&catid=11&subcat= (Sound card)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=OS-002-MS&tool=3 (Software)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-088-SA&groupid=701&catid=10&subcat=951 (DVD Drive, will this do play music cd's etc? Games blah blah These confuse me!)

EDIT: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-022-RA&tool=3 (Possibly this as well, to go with the blue LED form!)

That's all i can think of at this time.

Not to sure on crossfire atm, but if you can find 2 cards that are better then what i picked and such, for only a little bit more, go for it!

Looking for a good gaming rig that will last a good few years like this baby has ;)

Feel free to update the CPU or whatever.

Also, would prefer one of the local guys near me to come and fix it all up for me, as i don't trust myself no more! (Will pay for the labour! ha)

Thanks.

Ermmm roughly yeah ... could go to 800-850 i guess, will ask mum to go halfs or something.

I mean, we spent 1grand on this piece of poo 4 years ago, though, we did have an excellent sales rep who pushed my mum! Somehow she bought a top PDA also! ha

EDIT: Yeah V_R that's with if i sell my old parts! :p e.g GFX hopefully around 90 as it's brand new etc.

And yes i do work on checkouts! :( Already ripped the company off for about 20pounds lmao, wonder if they will find me out :(

Oh and you sure about Vista? So many problems with it i find, or is that only with the 64bit version?

And that motherboard isn't SLI enabled? Only seeing one slot for GFX? Not a big problem but i never know if i might go sli in future ;)

To go with the blue LED theme, and i often watch alot of movies on my pc now, so turning all fans down is a big plus :)

Just having a look at this...

Mostly I'd go for what V_R said, but if it were me I'd have these instead:

Win XP as detailed in your first post (strange how XP costs more than Vista eh? Are Microsoft trying to tell us something? :D )

Logitech G11 keyboard (imo the Razer keyboard is overpriced and the G11 is a fine gaming keyboard).

List your parts for sale on this forum, and overprice them a little so peeps can bargain with you.

Looking good :thumb:

btw, I ain't got much work on lately, if you wanted me to drive to Herts and put it together for you, I could do that thing, ask your parents first, then PM me.

Very reasonable rates :D

Xp or Vista is your choice mate.

If you want SLI you will need an Nvidia 6*0 chipset, not that you need SLI or Crossfire tbh.

Is the case that loud? I dont think so, all my fans are on low as it is, and this thing kicks out some heat!

I also have the Antec 900 and I don't think you need the fan controller.

I have the two stock 120mm fans on low, the 200mm top fan on high and I've fitted a Noctua 120mm fan on the side case fan mount blowing at the graphics card, on full.

It's quiet, it's cool :)

(each fan has three settings, btw, via a fitted switch)

As for fitting this thing, nope, I don't 'do' Internet, lol, but I'd recommend Zen, but I could put the thing together for you.

Just hope I don't get loaddsa work come in during the next week or two ;)

Yeah don't worry, it was only for "show" :)

Whose "Zen"? lol this a person or? :p Could you atleast try and do the internet for me though? ;) I suck at that.

I will keep you updated with the orders and such. Finally, hopefully a new rig!

Zen is an ISP. http://www.zen.co.uk

They're good. But they're not the cheapest. Not to everybody's taste/budget.

And nope, sorry, getting connected to an ISP is down to you I'm afraid, too many comebacks to take responsibility for that....

And apart from that, most adsl/cable connections take a day or two to get active. I only intend staying a few hours... ;)

Who are you with atm? Won't they do to get started?

CPU cache is, simply put, onboard CPU memory.

The more you got, the quicker it works.

fsb = front side bus. Or to put it another way, the speed your data travels around your system.

Both CPU and memory influence fsb.

Again, the faster the better.

fsb actually more important to a system's peformnce than a CPU's clock speed, something which Intel conveniently forgot to mention for years and years :D

But they come good now - eventually...

Ahh i see.

I spose i can handle no internet for a few days, just play around on GRAW 2 hehe

Well, i've been going through forums now on www.overclockers.co.uk and i think i'll go with the -

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-143-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=793

I would prefer spending an extra 30pounds to be very future proof, and they all say it's amazing and easily overclocked to much better then the e6850.

No worries about the internet btw, was worth a shot hehe

How much do you want fees btw? :)

Ahh ok, i'll get that one :)

Btw, will the Tagan 480W PSU be enough for this system?

Also Floppy, would you be able to do some overclocking of the CPU for me if you have time? :) Since i've read it's an excellent overclocker?

I'll PM you. Not much.

No, it won't, you'll need at least 600W, my tagan 480W wasn't enough for the system listed in my sig.

Sorry, but no, I'm not taking responsibility for stretching a system beyond it's recommended capabilities.

Lots of overclocking guides about on the Net though. Basically, make sure your RAM timings are set correctly then up the fsb a bit at a time until it goes wobbly then back off a bit. Or you may be able to change the CPU multiplier, I'm not sure about the latest Intel chips.

And that advice is very basic ;)

Mr car is in for an MOT & service on Monday and I have a Hospital appointment/checkup on Tuesday morning, btw. Let's hope the car doesn't need repairs which will take longer than a day or two. And similarly, let's hope I don't need any repairs :D
